Grade 10
As a Top 10 finalist in V08 for proposing From Stars, an AI-powered stress relief calling application that uses the voices of Korean idols, I was invited to attend the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, in May 2025. Throughout the conference, I participated in showcase booths, competitive events, and leadership workshops.
As a finalist, I hosted a showcase booth where I introduced From Stars to conference attendees, explaining the inspiration behind the application and its key features. Presenting my business idea to visitors from across the United States pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and strengthened my confidence in communicating with diverse audiences.
During the conference, I also participated in the Presentation Team event, where I collaborated with three teammates to discuss how artificial intelligence is shaping the entertainment industry and its ethical and societal implications. Our team concluded that a lack of control over artificial intelligence and the erosion of human creativity could negatively industry’s future.
In the Entrepreneurship event, I presented a 10-page business proposal and delivered a 7-minute pitch introducing Unspoken, an AI-powered sign language learning platform designed to promote a more inclusive society by reducing communication barriers between Deaf and hearing communities. I analyzed the global challenge faced by 430 million people who are deaf or hard of hearing and presented the platform's key features, marketing strategy, competitor analysis (including NVIDIA and Lingvano), and financial analysis.
I also earned the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Certification by Certiport. To prepare for the exam, I dedicated more than five hours to studying entrepreneurship concepts before passing the assessment and receiving the official certification.
Beyond the competitive events, I took part in the Leadership Passport Workshop Series, including "Landing a Job and Managing Money," "The Ethics of Business: Doing Well by Doing Good," "Future-Ready Leadership Skills for the Next Decade," and "AI-Powered Startups: Launch, Scale, Succeed This Summer." These workshops provided valuable insight into entrepreneurship and leadership, and the opportunity to build meaningful connections with students from across the United States who shared my interest in business.
