Tech Bridge is a club I founded to break down social barriers by helping older adults build the digital skills they need to navigate today's technology. By providing digital literacy workshops, Tech Bridge is working toward a more inclusive, connected society.
I started Tech Bridge after noticing how many older adults struggle with everyday tasks that involve technology. Things that most of us take for granted end up being obstacles for them. Technology should be accessible to everyone, and Tech Bridge’s mission is to help bridge that digital divide through hands-on education.
As founder, I lead a team of more than 30 students in building digital literacy workshops for older adults at a local senior center in Jeju. I started by having the team research the specific digital challenges older adults face, then split everyone into smaller groups and ran brainstorming sessions to identify what topics our workshops should cover. I also put together a one-page proposal template so each group could plan out their workshop agenda and put together their own materials.

From there, I coordinated with local senior centers to establish partnerships and handle workshop logistics. We ended up running an in-person digital literacy workshop for more than 30 older adults, covering practical skills like creating YouTube playlists, shopping online, and using online banking.
Following the workshop, participants told us they felt noticeably more confident using technology and online services, and we received useful feedback through post-workshop discussions. We've kept refining our workshops based on that input to ensure that every participant can stay engaged and get something out of the experience.
Beyond in-person workshops, we've also expanded our reach by donating more than 10 online workshop videos to the Baraka Refugee Center and Refugee pNan, providing digital literacy resources to more than 80 refugees.
Through community partnerships, Tech Bridge continues to make technology more accessible for underserved communities and promote digital inclusion across diverse populations.
