Design Head: Yearbook Academy (2023-2026)

Grade 9 10 11 12

As Head of the Yearbook, I led a team of more than 20 students in designing and producing the school's 100+ page annual yearbook using Adobe Creative Cloud programs. Throughout the project, I coordinated the yearbook production process by planning the annual timeline, breaking large tasks into manageable assignments, delegating responsibilities, setting deadlines, and tracking each team member's progress to ensure the project remained on schedule.

To support new design team members, I organized Adobe InDesign workshops and created a tutorial workbook covering Adobe InDesign’s key features and design techniques. That structured training and set of resources helped new members build their design skills more efficiently and produce higher-quality page layouts throughout the year.

I also organized the Yearbook Cover Contest by designing promotional posters, creating the application form, and promoting the event across the school community to encourage students to contribute their creativity to the yearbook.

After the designs were finalized, I communicated directly with the printing company to coordinate the yearbook’s publication. Although I initially ran into unfamiliar printing terminology and production requirements, I learned how to ask effective questions and communicate professionally.

This experience as Head of the Yearbook helped me grow not only as a better designer but also as a more effective leader who communicates clearly and manages responsibilities efficiently.
